On Pender Island, many of the services we rely on—and much of the character and care that shape this community—are sustained by volunteers and non-profit organizations. The Pender Islands Foundation was created to help these groups thrive; offering support that strengthens the people and organizations working every day to make island life healthier, more connected, and more resilient.

Each year, the funds raised through the Walk for Wellness will be matched by the Foundation and directed to one local non-profit beneficiary. In this way, every step taken becomes part of something bigger: a community investing in itself.

This year, as we walk the new trail from Danny Martin Park to the Health Centre, we are honoured to name the Pender Islands Health Care Society as our 2026 beneficiary.

THE 2026 WALK FOR WELLNESS BENEFICIARY…

The Pender Islands Health Care Society is a cornerstone of our island community, facilitating access to primary health care and complementary wellness services. From humble beginnings in the local doctor’s house in the 1970’s to the expanded Health Centre we know today, your support continues a proud tradition of community care and participation; Pender residents demonstrate their confidence and optimism with every gift.

This year’s 2-kilometre walk brings in additional funding that we could not raise on our own, and we are grateful to be named as the inaugural beneficiary!
